The story behind Fixed Scope
Fixed Scope is a labs brand by the team behind API2PDF. We've spent years building developer tools and learned a simple truth: the best tools are the ones you can actually control.
That's what Fixed Scope is about. We build three kinds of things: full products you can sign up for and use today, robust tools you can self-host on your own infrastructure, and early-stage experiments we're tinkering with publicly. Everything is open source. No lock-in.
Our philosophy
We value directness. No marketing fluff, no feature walls, no signup gates. Show the tool, show the code, let people decide. We carry this philosophy into everything we build.
Zero lock-in
Self-host on Railway, your own VPS, or wherever Docker runs. Your data, your infrastructure, your choice.
Open source first
Every tool ships with full source under permissive licenses. Fork it, modify it, contribute back if you want.
Value before revenue
If something becomes popular, maybe we monetize. Maybe not. The point is usefulness, not growth metrics.
Why "Fixed Scope"?
In software, "fixed scope" usually means defining exactly what you're going to build before you build it. We liked the name because each thing we ship has a clear, focused purpose. No feature creep, no bloat. A tool does one thing well and stays out of your way.
